Dating Chakra 5 – The Throat Chakra

Welcome to the fifth Article on the Throat Chakra in the series of Dating The Chakras – Series!

I recommend you start reading about the previous Chakras if you haven’t yet – but if you did, let’s dive in.

Why should you learn about your Chakras?

Through the exploration of the Chakras, you can gain a deeper understanding of:

  • The energy and its flow in your body
  • Who you are, what you are here to do, and what is your true purpose in life
  • How to release physical, mental, and energetic blockages
  • How to live more abundantly and securely in your life
  • Working with your emotions and feelings better
  • Increasing the energy levels of your body
  • Connecting with the true nature of your Self
  • Embracing your inner gifts and powers that you possess

All of these powerful benefits come from raising your awareness levels in the process of understanding your Chakras – your inner energetic system.

What is the Chakra System?

The Chakra System is one of the most ancient energy systems of the body that exist in the world.

The word “Chakra” means Wheel – a wheel of energy that is constantly flowing with energy from the base of your spine to the top of your head.

They are considered as the main centers of energy that are located inside the body and allow for various functions and abilities in the body.

The Chakra system represents the physical and energetic body.

Once one has gained mastery and cleared the blockages and imbalances of the Chakra System, their life force energy can finally flow freely through the body.

This allows for greater health, abundance and prosperity in all walks of life – through relationships, to work, to general health and communication – internally and externally.

There are 7 main chakras that are all interconnected in their energy and balancing levels.

Let us begin your date with the Fifth Chakra – Your Throat Chakra

Meet The Throat Chakra. The Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) is located in your throat. It is associated with expression, communication, authenticity, and creativity. It is the first of the 3 higher chakras, along with the 3rd eye and the Crown Chakras, that are more spiritual and energetic in their nature.

Color Blue, Element – Ether

The Throat Chakra is the center of authentic communication and expression in your body. It acts as a bridge between your inner essence and the outer world, allowing you to express and embrace your authentic truth and connect profoundly with yourself and others.

When the throat chakra is unbalanced or blocked, you may feel an inability to express yourself correctly, or to share your thoughts and truth, and communicate effectively. It can also create throat-related issues such as sore throat and problems with your voice.

You may feel like you are closed off from direct communication with others and that it becomes hard to express yourself. This can cause you to have a fear of public speaking, feel misunderstood or unheard, and struggles with creative expression

If your chakra was a partner and she wasn’t feeling aligned, how would you help her? How would you help a partner that loves expressing herself, loves communicating in various ways and knows how to talk and share insightful ideas? How would you help her reconnect with her natural abilities to communicate?

The throat chakra is the bubbly personality that always has the right words to say and soothing voice to share them with. She loves to be expressive, creative, and interesting – and she loves spreading her knowledge, wisdom, and deep inner truths

Encourage acts of expression and authentic communication with yourself and others that will promote healing and movement of the energies in this chakra.

What is the gift of the Throat chakra?

Center of Communication and Self-Expression

The Throat Chakra is the center of clear and authentic communication. It empowers you to express your thoughts, ideas, and emotions with honesty and clarity. When your throat chakra is open and balanced, you can communicate your truth with confidence and assertiveness, allowing your voice to be heard.

Creativity and expressiveness

The Throat Chakra is closely connected to creativity and expressivness. When your throat chakra is in harmony, you embrace your unique expression and unleash your creative potential. It encourages you to share your authentic self, whether through art, writing, speaking, or any other form of creative expression.

Truth and Authenticity

The Throat Chakra is associated with speaking and living your truth. It encourages you to align your words and actions with your authentic self. When your throat chakra is balanced, you express yourself genuinely and honestly, allowing others to connect with the real you. Your words gain more weight and trust, and you are every word of yours becomes more powerful.

Signs this Chakra is unbalanced

When the Throat Chakra is blocked you feel as if your ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and authentically diminishes. You feel a lack of verbality and ability to express yourself accurately. You are not able to fully project your speech and words to the right place and make the other person or group understand you.

You may fear speaking out for yourself or sharing your message. You are afraid of the judgment of your voice – the inner and outer one as well. You fear that your expressive nature is not worthy of attention so you may stay silent or too quiet.

Some of the main symptoms can be:

  • Lack of creativity
  • Low levels of self-confidence in speaking out
  • Timid voice
  • Lack of self-expression
  • Throat problems (Sore throat, voice problems)
  • Misunderstood by others
  • Not authentic with yourself and others
  • Not able to express your true self

My experience with the Throat Chakra

My personal experiences with the Throat Chakra are of speaking more truthfully and aligned with my true self.
It’s very easy to try and cut corners in order to make other people feel better about themselves or avoid conflict but sometimes you need to learn how to speak up. Say what you really mean and believe, be who you really are, and express yourself authentically. It can be hard sometimes but there are always people out there that will feel relieved to hear they are not alone. That another person knows what they have went through. Your voice has power and it needs to be heard.

Let’s dive into how you can start balancing the Throat Chakra.

How to Balance the Throat Chakra?

To balance your Throat Chakra begin to use your true voice more authentically. Stop saying anything that isn’t absolute truth for you. I am not saying you go out there and insult people, that’s called tact. I am saying that when presented with an opportunity to be your most authentic and truthful self – do it. Be it.

There is nothing stopping you. Believe in yourself and your authentic voice, do not let anything stand in your way from being your true self and expression. It is your right and duty to do so. Additionally, you may want to practice singing and chanting OM for clearing up the blocked pathways of this chakra. It will do wonders to distribute this energy.

Exercise to balance the Throat Chakra

One of the best exercises to balance the Throat Chakra is singing in the car without constraints. It’s so simple yet powerful, and it will open up the faculties of your voice and inner power from within.

All you have to do is go out for a ride alone, put your favorite tunes, and sing your hearts out. If you don’t have a car, go to a place where you can be alone, play your favorite tune and sing along as well. You can also do it at home, but I find the motion of the car or the outdoors to be exceptionally freeing.

Let yourself go. If you sense you have resistance while doing this exercise this means you are even afraid of expressing your true self infront of yourself. That means you have to release blockage after blockage methodically and eventually get to the point of no tension.

Here is another excerpt from my book “Beyond Limits”. In this section I share with you a nice voice exercise you can use to release more of your natural resonant voice:

Every person has a different “sweet spot” that accentuates his or her natural resonance, and through which their voice creates a deep impact on others. Experiment and use your voice in a way that persuades, provokes, brings people together or apart, and makes people warmer or colder to you – and over time you will define the parameters within your voice that sounds and feels the best, for you and others.

The way you speak can become a hypnotic tool that moves people towards a larger destiny and story – as you learn to use this instrument that is dormant within you, remember to use it in ways that help and empower others. Using your voice in manipulative and distasteful ways will eventually rub that energy back on it and remove its power and potency so I certainly don’t recommend that. One way you can try and observe the power of your voice is to sing and speak while putting your hands on a wooden table. You will feel the vibrations of the table and it will be a good tool to see where you have the most resonance in your voice.

When your Throat Chakra is open

  • Your inner and outer communication are as ONE
  • Your voice is vibrant, healthy, and balanced
  • Your expression is truthful and authentic to your true self

  • You gain magnetism and persuasion with your own voice and speech
  • People enjoy being in your presence and hearing you speak
  • You channel the highest when you talk and express yourself
  • Your creativity is beautiful and enriches the world

Overall when this chakra is balanced you experience more effective communication and expression in your life. You are able to connect with people on a deep level and express yourself in the world as you feel within.

More Practices that can help you unblock the Throat Chakra

The best practices to unblock your Throat Chakra and the Chakra systems, in general, will always revolve around inner work. It is only through inner work that you begin to see that reality doesn’t happen OUT there. It happens IN there first and only then outside of you.

“Speak your truth, even if your voice shakes.”

You are the cause and not the effect. It’s something that may be hard to grasp for those who have lived most of their life with the belief and perception that things happen to them – yet it is a fact that your life is first and foremost an inner experience.

Some of the practices I recommend you integrate in your life for overall well being and directly to unblock, heal, and balance your chakras:

  1. Meditation – Meditation is the common thread across all inner work. If you are a seasoned reader of my work you already know I treat meditation as a basic foundation for your living. Just like sleep, exercise, eating, and brushing your teeth – meditation is a basic activity that should be incorporated in your life consistently to get the best results and maximize your ability to enjoy and appreciate life. It is also the foundation for anyone wishing to develop a higher spiritual connection to the divine and experience deeper dimensions and understanding to life.

  2. Journaling – this is another foundational practice that will allow you to dive deeper into your internal world, thought processes, emotions, perceptions, beliefs, and habits. It will allow you to connect to your subconscious mind and bring to surface subconscious blockages that are holding you back from the goals and success you wish to achieve. Journaling can also be used as a tool to deepen your connection with the Chakras and enhance your natural ability to sense blockages before they even come.
  3. Kundalini Meditation – Kundalini meditation is a type of meditation that is more focused on moving the natural energy of your body in alignment with your Chakra System and your energetic body. It helps move stagnated energy throughout your body and clear the blockages on a more Energetic level which is faster and more immediate. However it is a more advanced meditation technique and while it does help dissolve blockages faster, a blockage can only truly be dissolved once dealt with at the ROOT and not through quick fixes.

Other activities that may help you feel more grounded and connected to life are regular exercises, walks outside, time spent in nature, family and friends time, maintaining an healthy routine, and eating a balanced diet.

The Matching Solfeggio Frequencies for the Throat Chakra

The 7 Solfeggio frequencies and their effects are:

396 Hz: The frequency of Abundance, liberation and freeing oneself from
negative thoughts and emotions.

417 Hz: The frequency of change and undoing negative patterns or behaviors.

963 Hz: The frequency of divine connection and channel of light.

I would say that the most fitting Solfeggio frequency to heal the Throat Chakra would be the 741 Hz which allows you to cultivate stronger self-expression and enhance communication.

In fact, I am listening to this frequency as I am writing this article and feeling that the words flow through me effortlessly. Use this frequency and experiment with others as well for a balancing effect on your mind and body.

Try them out on Spotify or Youtube to cleanse your aura and your personal frequency.

Just by listening to the calming sounds you’ll already experience an elevated healing effect. Additionally, they are great for deep focus and deep work as well.

Challenges in Unblocking the Chakras

At times there may be blockages that are harder and more challenging to unblock and release. These blockages may manifest as amplified symptoms of the fears and physical symptoms outlined above. In these times the best thing to do is to relax, let go, and accept they are part of your reality at the moment.

Resisting and battling a blockage will only serve to make it harder to unblock. Through time and perspective, you will gain more insights into how and why the blockages have formed, and how you can begin to release them in the way that feels right for you.

In times of challenge, it can also be a good decision to get advice from a mentor, a coach, a therapist, a holistic healer, or a spiritual teacher you resonate with. They will be able to guide you to your destination at the right pace and shine more light from a vantage point – to help you unclog the block in the easiest and most natural way for you. There is nothing to be ashamed of for asking for help or guidance, it is a natural part of life.

Throughout history, we always relied on other people to help us and guide us with wisdom and advice. Whether it be parents, family members, community members, teachers, or elders. The point of getting help is to learn how to deal with it alone – not to become dependent on the source of guidance.

If you resonate with my words and guidance, I invite you to explore the possibility of working together and see if we’re a good fit to collaborate on your personal journey here.
