5 ways to be more mindful in your daily life
Being more mindful in your life is about creating more space for presence.
The more present you are, the more you actually get out of your mind and into reality.
This is where your true power is – to enter the place beyond thoughts, and practice that in various states during your day.
Here are 5 ways to be more mindful in your daily life:
1. Create a morning routine
Having a morning routine is a wonderful way to start your day. It can be as simple as making your coffee more intently, or rather a more elaborate one with an exercise, yoga, or meditation. You can also journal or set intentions in your morning routine. I don’t recommend reading as this is your prime time to set your mind for the day. I also recommend avoiding the phone for as long as possible.
2. Establish an afternoon ritual
Give yourself a set time in the afternoon that is all yours. It can be taking a light walk, drinking your favorite drink, eating a small treat or just taking a few deep breathes. This sets an anchor for your day and introduces deep relaxation. As a human BEING you deserve to take a few moments every day for yourself to BE. Make this an established ritual and you will find yourself anticipating it and enjoying those precious moments of peace and freedom.
3. Exercise mindfully
When you exercise, do your best to be mindful. You can count the sets, listen to music that inspires you, or take the time to just relax in your exercise. There is no one rule how to do this. Make it your time to disconnect from everything.
4. Eat mindfully
This is another great place to introduce mindfulness into your own life. When you eat, strive to be fully present and aware of the moment. Taste the food intently, disconnect from thoughts, and just be in this present moment. The more you allow yourself to do that, the easier it gets to connect to any action you take elsewhere.
5. Meditate
Meditation is one of the most powerful spaces of mind you can enter. The more you meditate, the easier it also gets to become more mindful in daily life. Meditation will teach you more than a thousand books or articles about mindfulness, but it is yours to practice and master. You can get my book on meditation here to get started.
Conclusion
Bringing in more mindfulness into your life is an act of self love and appreciation. You are allowing yourself to enter moments of bliss and comfort no matter where you are and what you experience. The more you do so, the better your experience will get, in many different ways, and you will attract more of the positive energy into your life.
